Critical commentary from http://www.free-market.net/features/pageoftheweek/97summer.html

"If you haven't heard of Michael Huemer yet, you will. He's sure to make the next big libertarian splash in academic philosophy...  Above all, Huemer is known for the crystal clarity of his thinking. You won't find the pretentious cant so endemic in the 'soft' academic disciplines -- just simple, forthright exposition. If you haven't discovered Michael Huemer until now, you are in for a treat."

Philosophic Phun & Yoomer

Jean-Paul Sartre sits down at a sidewalk cafe and orders coffee. "But no cream!", he tells the waitress. "I'm sorry, sir," she replies, "but we're all out of cream. Would you prefer it without milk instead?"

Renée Descartes is finishing a beer at the local pub. "Would you like another?", inquires the bartender. "I think not," replies Descartes, whereupon he vanishes in a puff of smoke.

The dean is addressing the faculty about out-of-control expenses at the university. He's especially peeved at the physicists: "You boys are always making us buy millions of dollars worth of fancy equipment. Why can't you be more like the mathematicians? All they ever ask for are pencils, paper, and wastebaskets." He paused reflectively. "Come to think of it, the philosophy department is thriftier. They don't even use wastebaskets."

Q: How many ethical intuitionists does it take to change a light bulb?
